Google – am I the only one who’s fed up with it?

I’ve used Google from before it became a household name and always liked it because it appeared to think the same way as I did and gave me exactly the site I was looking for from my, often vague, description.
However, of late all it appears to give are links to paid for placement sites which vaguely represent what I was after on the top page – the really meaty bits are now often down on page 2.  It even points me to other search engine pages – which really P’s me off.

If anyone else has noticed it and moved to a different search engine which one do now use as I haven’t even got a clue as to where to search for one now that Google just links to the big money payers first.
